Italy Tours- Planning Your Vacation

Taking a trip to Italy, for many people, is a fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Therefore, they want to make sure that they do it right. Whether you hand the reigns to a travel agent or plan the trip yourself, your aim does not waver; ensuring that you don’t miss out on anything. To see the highlights of the country in the most efficient way, people might choose to book a tour. Nevertheless, it does not mean that you take Italy tours of the whole country in order to benefit from the expertise of a local tour guide.
Where people want to be flexible and do not wish to be bound by a tour guide’s schedule, they can undertake do it yourself trips and instead take on attraction specific tours or join a few city tours as they travel through Italy. In this way, they can get the most out of each spot they visit. There are several options at the disposal of people such as city tours, adventure trips, country-wide tours, day trips etc when they are considering taking Italy tours.

Italy Tours – Why A Tour Is Better

For people who have never traveled to Italy or anywhere before, it is better to book a tour. This is also applicable for people who do not have much time to dedicate to searching for individual Italy tours or planning their own trips. To ensure a high comfort level on the tour you book, it’s better if you read about the different tour companies and the packages they offer because not all Italy tours are planned equally especially when we talk about a popular destination like Italy. The size of the tour groups, the form of transportation, the charges, the places being visited are some factors which can help in choosing your Italy tours package.
There are several types of Italy tours you can take amongst which the city tours in Italy are the most popular. This means that instead of booking a complete package trip, people can plan their own tour to the places they want and then book guided tours in the different cities they visit and sometimes also to attractive places in those cities. In this manner people can not only enhance their knowledge with the expertise of a local guide but also plan their own route and hence dictate their own pace. An array of local guides can be found in each city which offers different Italy tours such as walking tours, shopping tours, bike tours, boat tours, hiking tours, ghost tours, art tours, night tours etc.

Italy Tours – Pick Your Perfect Style

Some tours only cover specific sights and locations in the city whereas others focus on the history of a particular city. Day trips are ideal for people who are in one city long enough to take its highlights and then fill their leftover time with day trips. One can also find adventure tours in Italy which are especially designed for an independent yet adventurous travel. These are of small groups and offer people with accommodation, transportation and guidance about specific attractions. Because they are adventurous tours, they also involve outdoor and sports activities.
People can choose any of these Italy tours to make their vacation enjoyable, inspirational and fun.

Italy Tours
When you are doing a lot of this vacation traveling.  Much of it depends on walking.  You need decent comfortable sturdy shoes in order to accommodate a lot of the trails, the hikes, the ruins, all kinds of obstacles that you might encounter during just a normal outing with your tour group. Walking shoes are good if you have something this stylish you can use those for your hiking adventures as well as your casual night out at the restaurant.  Again you can’t pack to many things in you rluggage because you’re penalized for an overweight bag.  So you have to select your shoes accordingly.

Unless you specifically know you’re going to go to an area that needs heavy sturdy durable boots to hike up a volcano crater you wouldn’t bring them.  But typical vacations that are on a tour would be sneakers, shoes that  can have dual purpose would be your best choice.  High heels for women are not really recommended. If you want a pair for a special night out at a special restaurant that’s fine, but you need the walking shoes that you can wear day in day out on the typical tour.  What kind of weather would you expect.  As you can imagine most of the summers in Italy can be hot and humid and the need to be able to dress comfortably.   T-shirts and shorts would be acceptable.  Obviously if you are going into churches no bare shoulders.

There are plenty of guidelines you can find out on that, but part of the problem is with your packing, everything is wrinkled.  So you want to have clothes, pants, jerseys, shirts, blouses that can pack well and that require a minimum amount of care to keep you looking good.  Make sure you bring a sweater or jacket for the spring or fall.  You never know what kind of temperature extreme you going to run into at the time.  Winters are cold and obviously up north in the mountainous areas you will need a winter jacket in the winter.  Southern Italy in the winter it is cool but you can get away with lite coat.  That along with the unpredictability of the weather you need to bring a raincoat, a poncho, umbrella something that’s easy to carry again because you are going to be carrying it around for a week or two weeks that you are on vacation.

Given the time of year typically you could use a hat and sunglasses.  If you are on a boat ride or in the middle of the ocean and the summer I used to be mandatory that you have some hat and sunglasses to wear unless you are going to stay inside the cabin.  But again you would miss the good photo opportunities.  So you definitely want to plan ahead for that.  Jewelry and makeup.  You know itailians wear less makeup and simple pieces of jewelry so you could emulate them so you don’t stand out as the gaudy American.   Safety tips.  When walking around the streets looking at your map, looking at the sites, have your camera around your neck, you are the typical tourist that that everybody can identify.  With your flashy shirts and you know, shorts, you look like a standard American tourist, and you’d really like to blend in more with the people than standing out in the crowd.

There are pickpockets in many of the major cities.  People will target you if you appear be distracted, looking away, taking pictures, looking at your map, they will easily pickpocket you.  So you want to keep aware of your surroundings and the people that are with you.  A lot of tourists carry backpacks.  That’s a dead giveaway.  If you want to do something other than that maybe you have a larger purse aor a messenger bag type that you carry so that you are not as an attractive mark for some of the purse snatchers.  Same thing goes for fanny packs.  Basically pickpockets will zero in on that so what you would like to do is to keep your documents, your money, credit cards in a front pocket of your pants and jeans which is really what they would recommend.  If you have a wallet that has 29 cards in it, money and things, leave all of it home.

Take one or two cards that you think yoluj will need for your vacation.  You can buy a smaller wallet.  Something that you can tuck into jeans so it’s more convenient to carry on vacation, make it a vacation wallet.  Or keep it on te inside of your jacket.  Someplace where it’s not as easily accessible for pickpocketers.  Another thing you can do is bring a soft sided shopping bag.  As you pick up souvenirs, pick up items along your way, you can these in the bag so you do not have multiple bags to carry. won the would carry all this would be convenient for carrying getting around and you wont lose or drop something on your way while you are traveling.   How to dress for the museums and churches. Basically there are many signs that will tell you what is permitted what isn’t.  Shorts, bare arms, lowcut dresses, short skirts, and tank tops for many women, those aren’t acceptable.  Some require a head covering but not normally.  But you may have to wear a shawl or a scarf.  And obviously men sould remove a hat if they enter the church.  If you don’t have a shawl to cover-up a lot of churches have something to give you that will give you for the quick visit that you are going to be in the church. Enjoy your Italy Tours!
